"Minimum Maximum" DVD in September

EMI in Germany has scheduled the "Minimum Maximum" live DVD from Kraftwerk for September 26. For some reason the DVD comes months after the live 2CD. According to a Ralf Hütter interview in Italian magazine Trax, there will also be a special edition of the DVD with a book.

Furthermore, the releases of the album reissues are apparently close (again).


First bands to Electrixmas

The annual Electrixmas fest in Lund, Sweden, has announced its first two live acts (out of a total of five): Seabound and Combichrist. As usual everyone gets a compilation CD for free. And the date? December 3.


Iris release their "Wrath"

Our synthpop favourites Iris are back with a new album called “Wrath”. Expect more melodic synthpop (in stereo even, according to the movie-like poster on the band's web page) from these two American chaps on August 29.


Dedication to the extreme

Modul3c is a new independent label dedicated to the extreme and/or experimental. It's organised as a collective of artists and designers.

The first two releases will be with Swedish noise project Meltdown (the album "White") and the solo project Knös of Fredrik Djurfeldt from Severe Illusion (a double album later this year).


Mentallo cover on the new Decoded Feedback

A new album from hard electronic band Decoded Feedback has been completed. The title is “Combustion” and it features twelve tracks, where one is a cover of Mentallo & the Fixer's classic “Sacrilege” and one is a remix of “Birth of a Nation”. You can also find a video for “Hyberia” on the disc. It's out in mid September.


New synthpop label Substream signs Poland's Nun

Newly founded electronic pop label Substream has signed their second artist: Polish synthpop duo Nun. Up until now, Magdalena Kaspryszyn and Olaf Karbowiak have been heard on several compilation CD:s but now their debut album is on its way. They sound somewhat similar to Client and Ladytron, according to the Swedish label.

Substream has just released "Sounds of a New Generator" from another synthpop band, Auto Auto. The release party was held earlier this summer on the new Hard Rock Café in Gothenburg.



Ministry and RevCo announce 2006 tour

Know what you will do in one year? At least Ministry do. They have just announced their North American "MasterBaTour" - well in advance, as it takes place about one year from now. So far, just a May 28 gig in Seattle has been revealed.

Support acts are already hired: Revolting Cocks and Spyder Baby.


New project from ex-Klinik collaborator

Merlin Burghgraeve and Dürak Delete are the two gentlemen behind the project Koyt. Merlin has previously worked with Klinik, Noise Unit and his solo project Somnambulist, amongst lots of others things. Dürak plays bass, but fills in on percussion and guitars as well.

Koyt have a CD out now, but are currently not signed to any label. If you buy the album, you’ll get a concert ticket with it.


Sloppy Wrenchbody album after seven years

KK Records EBM act Sloppy Wrenchbody from Denmark has finally released its third and last album "Famous Last Words". Despite the title it's anything but famous. It was recorded in the summer and autumn of 1996 (!). The master tape has been in a shelf for many years and the CD release from last autumn has been more or less unknown until now when we hear from Copenhagen's Brain Corporation.

Now we are all curious to hear if Leæther Strip also has an old album hidden somewhere...


New remixes of eigthies compilation

Kneel for the Queen. Yazoo are doomed to appear on eighties compilations for eternity.

This autumn sees the release of a remix compilation called “Future Retro”. It should be very interesting for those of you who like eighties music. Depeche Mode, Yazoo, Howard Jones, Devo, The Cure, Alphaville, New Order etc are featured here, with new remixes made by Richard X, Tiga, Crystal Method, Way out West and many more. It’s out on September 27 on Warner.


Time to wake the machines again

The fifth in the “Awake the Machines” series of compilations has been released by Out of Line this week. It’s a double disc affair – well, if you get the limited edition at least – with lots of hard EBM by Hocico, Spetsnaz, Combichrist, Blutengel, Icon of Coil and a whole bunch of other artists as well. Most tracks are featured in a remixed versions.



Electro charity super project back in studio

Electropop charity project Bruderschaft has previously released just the single "Forever". Now, it seems a continuation is on its way. "Return" and two more tracks are in preparation for an Alfa-Matrix release (release date tba). Main man DJ Rexx Arkana is joined by Tom Shear (Assemblage 23), Sebastian Komor (Icon of Coil) and Johann Sebastian (State of the Union). More guests will follow.
