Rammstein remixed by Vince Clarke

February 28 2006 | By: Johan Carlsson (Stockholm, Sweden)

The new single from German funnymetal band Rammstein is ”Mann Gegen Mann”, pulled from the latest full length offering ”Rosenrot”. Included on the single are two remixes, one of which is made by none other than Mr Vincent Clarke, of Depeche Mode, Yazoo and Erasure fame. Should be interesting.

The promotional video features the entire band naked – except for their instruments – and lots of greased up body builders in a snake pit. The film is directed by Swedish director Jonas Åkerlund, famous for Madonna, Prodigy and Metallica videos.

"Strike One" from Militant Cheerleaders on the Move

February 22 2006 | By: Johan Carlsson (Stockholm, Sweden) and Mikael Kahrle (Gothenburg, Sweden)

“Strike One” is the debut album by Swedish band Militant Cheerleaders on the Move, and presents a wider spectra than the first single “Freaks”. A first look shows top quality EBM and danceable electro following in the tradition of DAF and Nitzer Ebb. In "War" and "Lover" they even try on a poppier approach. The two members have a background in techno and electronica, which gives the sound a surprisingly modern and "mature" touch.

"Strike One" is out on Prototyp/Memento Materia on February 24. In Playlist now, review in progress.

February 22 2006 | By: Johan Carlsson (Stockholm, Sweden)

Electro legend Gary Numan is still going strong, and he will soon unveil his new album “Jagged” to the masses - on March 13 to be exact. Sound clips tell us that he's continuing his dark, guitary style that he put to good use on “Pure” and “Hybrid”.

XPQ-21 is alive

February 22 2006 | By: Johan Carlsson (Stockholm, Sweden)

Following my weakest header ever, I can tell you that German electro-EBM band XPQ-21 has finished their new album “Alive”. With that out the way, let me also tell you that the 14 track (actually one track is a bonus track from a cancelled single) album will also be available as a limited edition double-disc digipak with a whole bunch of remixes by Funker Vogt, Angel Theory, Alice in Videoland and others. It's out via Trisol in one month, on March 24.
