Boards of Canada EP offers four new tracks

Jun 10 2006 | By: Mike Whyte (Tokyo, Japan)

We have received Boards of Canada's new EP “Trans Canada Highway”. It is essentially a release to promote the track “Dayvan Cowboy”, from the recent album release “The Campfire Headphase”. However, the package proves to be much more than that. There are four new original BoC tracks featured on the EP; the new material being a slight return to the classic Boards sound. The disc is rounded off with an Odd Nosdam remix of the “Dayvan Cowboy” track.

Also, a Japan-only special-edition has been released, featuring all of the above plus a special trailer video. “Trans Canada Highway” is available now on Warp Records.

Memento Materia celebrates 15 years

Jun 8 2006 | By: Mike Whyte (Tokyo, Japan)

Memento Materia celebrate their first 15 years in the music business with a special release, due out in Autumn 2006. The limited edition compilation box set is set to feature all the artists who have been a part of the roster since the label's inception 15 years ago. We believe all has been featured in Release in some way or other; we started 5 years earlier than the label.

There is no possibility to tell you what will be on the discs yet, as the set list is to be decided through a tie-in competition, where the entrants send in their suggestions as to what should be on there. If you want to enter, send your suggestions for the top three songs ever released by Memento Materia/Protoyp, along with your name and email address to birthday@mementomateria.se - the winners will receive a copy of the box set for free. The competition is set to end on June 31.
