Bruno Kramm signs Anders Manga in Europe

October 15, 2009 | By: Mikael Kahrle (Gothenburg, Sweden)

Manga
Sco (synths/bass), Curse (drums), Devallia (keys/bass) and Anders Manga (vocals, bass, guitar).

American crossover artist Anders Manga has five albums in his resume and now Bruno Kramm (Das Ich) gives him European distribution through his Danse Macabre Records. Manga's sixth album "Infinite Gaze to the Sun" is slated for a January release.

- His exciting and charismatic visual style is complimented by a unique and charming musical vision, says Kramm, who'll also handle mastering and cover design.

Anders Magna has contributed music to a dozen mostly horror-oriented movies. He has been nominated for best band of the year by US Gothic Beauty magazine and mixes electro, goth, darkwave and industrial music.

- I’ve always been a misfit but I have to do what I do. It must suck to artists who have to think, “Well I can’t release this song because it sounds too dark” or “I can’t play that because it’s too electro”, he told German magazine Zillo recently.

Anders Manga will play support for Nitzer Ebb in West Springfield, Virginia, on December 6.

Opera Glasses and their mastermind Damiano Rossetti clearly hold The Cure as main inspirational source but promise we can expect something "very different" on their album, where Rossetti also will invite guests and add more ingredients.

Danish EBM scene slowly reborn

October 14, 2009 | By: Mikael Kahrle (Gothenburg, Sweden)

MommyThe Danish EBM club and live scene is alive and kicking since a few years, at least in Copenhagen where foreign bands are brought in, but where are the Danish bands (except for Leæther Strip)?

On November 25, Aarhus band Mommy Hurt My Head are ready to release their debut album filled with harsh electronic tracks. MHMH members have a background in Arzt+Pfusch, Deadstate 81, Glass Description and pAn and the G9 Slug. They believe in synthesizers instead of computers and that distorted vocals should be recorded with tube driven pedals, not with plugins.

EBM

Black Rain has just released "EBM Collection Vol. 1", which is a different affair altogether, compared to the usual CD routine that labels tend to stick to. The compilation is a hand-numbered limited edition (500 copies) of marble styled coloured vinyl.

It features nine tracks in exclusive versions from Leæther Strip, Tyske Ludder, Sturm Café, Prager Handgriff, Ionic Vision, E-Craft, Vomito Negro, DRP and Container 90. The Tyske Ludder contribution "Shokkz" is remixed by Leæther Strip, who also has his "Battleground" on here in a "Dessau Edit".

During Christmas, Covenant take part in the three city Christmas Ball tour in Germany and in September next year they will headline the Gothic Cruise from Miami to Cozuma, Cayman, Jamaica and back again.

Marilyn Manson lied about having swine-flu

October 1, 2009 | By: Mikael Kahrle (Gothenburg, Sweden)

Marilyn Manson lied about having the swine-flu and Live Nation was forced to clear things up. The natural consequence is that the next time Mr Manson wants to say something, we might not listen.
