Portishead and Goldfrapp members score silent movie

Adrian Utley and Will Gregory of the Portishead and Goldfrapp, respectively, have scored Carl Theodor Dreyer's movie "The Passion of Joan Arc" from 1928. The US premiere of the screening accompanied by a live performance conducted by Charles Hazlewood will take place on October 29.

Adrian Utley has previously composed music for TV and film and Will Gregory has a background as a saxophonist for the London Sinfonietta.


Triple treatment from In Slaughter Natives

Swedish industrial one-man project In Slaughter Natives returns after 7 years on November 23 with the "Insanity & Treatment". It's the Russian label Infinity Frog that will deliver a triple CD product in 999 copies with remastered live and radio recordings.

Visage, John Foxx, The Cult, Diamanda Galas, Front 242, The Psychedelic Furs, Blancmange, KMFDM, Karl Bartos, Recoil, The Exploited and Patti Smith - in one day. This is the impressive line-up at the Sinner's Day festival in Hasselt, Belgium on October 30. Direct bus routes connect most major cities in Belgium with the festival.


Metal band The Unguided covers EBM band Spark

The metal band The Unguided has covered "Tankens mirakel" by EBM band Spark. The cover "The Miracle of Thought" is featured as a bonus track on the limited jakebox edition of The Unguided's debut album "Hellfrost". The Unguided was started by three founding members of Sonic Syndicate.


32Crash with Jean-Luc de Meyer return

Those crazy Belgians in 32Crash are back again, this time with the album “Y2112Y” on Alfa Matrix (October 21). Consisting of Front 242 singer Jean-Luc de Meyer, Len Lemaire and Jan D’Hooghe, they create a sort of electronic sci-fi rockabilly.

If you want, there’s also the limited edition with a second album called “AD MMCXII” where the band themselves have remixed/reinterpreted all the songs of “Y2112Y”.


Thirteenth Exile back with sophomore album

After the debut album “Assorted Chaos and Broken Machinery”, the Stockholm based project Thirteenth Exile is back with “Into Nothing”. Memento Materia will release this dark electronic album, which also features a cover of Portishead’s “Wandering Star”, on October 18.
