She Wants Revenge employs Nitzer Ebb drummer

American alternative band She Wants Revenge has just lost their drummer Scott Ellis, who is leaving to work on other stuff. Instead, they have employed Jason Payne, of Nitzer Ebb fame, to play with them. He's been a friend of the band for years and it seemed like a natural fit.

In further news, She Wants Revenge goes on tour in November together with legend Peter Murphy.


A-ha member cooperates with Pet Shop Boys and Kent

Norwegian newspaper Dagbladet reports that Morten Harket is working on a solo album, now that A-ha is no more. They also report that Morten has been working with Pet Shop Boys and Swedish pop band Kent on some tracks. Neil Tennant and Chris Lowe have composed one song, while Kent's Joakim Berg and Martin Sköld have written two. Morten has also written songs by himself, and the album is set for release in the spring of 2012.


A new look for Rammstein...

On 111111 (November 11) the new Rammstein single "Mein Land" will be released in Germany, Austria and Switzerland. The international release will follow three days later. The new song is accompanied by the B-side "Vergiss uns nicht" and remixes from Mogwai and BossHoss. "Mein Land" will be released as a four track CD digipak and two track 7" vinyl.

The video, directed by Jonas Åkerlund, will be premiered on the release date on the official web site.

"Mein Land" is taken from "Made in Germany 1995-2011".


Olympic Edition of Camden Crawl

Camden Crawl is holding a launch party tonight in order to promote the Olympic edition of the popular musical festival next year (May 4-6). The yearly programme features artists from around the UK performing for the pleasure of the large audiences. Past artists have included Pendulum, Yeah Yeah Yeahs,Echo and the Bunnymen, Mouse on Mars and Moby. 2012 line up announcements from January 2012.

Early bird tickets go on sale today, with ten pounds off the ticket price, for a limited time only.


The Buggles reunite for "surprise" gig

Trevor Horn's legendary act The Buggles reunite for a "surprise" gig at O2 i London on October 25. Alongside Horn, original members Geoff Downes and Paul Robinson will be joined by Steve Lipson and Lol Creme to take part in a Q&A followed by the concert.

The "AHK-Toong BAY-Bi Covered" CD will be included in the December 2011 issue of Q Magazine, available on October 26. The "Achtung Baby" tribute is made in connection to the 20th anniversary of the classic U2 album. The CD sees a number of profile artists line up covers: Depeche Mode ("So Cruel"), Nine Inch Nails ("Zoo Station"), Garbage ("Who's Gonna Ride Your Wild Horses"), The Killers ("Ultraviolet (Light My Way)") and Glasvegas ("Acrobat"), to name but a few.
