New Recoil material on the way
Alan Wilder’s new Recoil album is called “Liquid” and the release dates for both the CD and vinyl versions have been set to February 14. A single, “Strange Hours”, will be released after and not prior to the album. It will include two extra tracks and remixes. The single date is March 22. The dates are subject to change.
The album features nine songs and guest vocals from Diamanda Galás, American performers Nicole Blackman and Samantha Coerbell, the gospel singers The Golden Gate Jubilee Quartet and the poet Rosa M Torras. Curve’s Dean Garcia plays additional bass.
Alan Wilder is considering making the album an enhanced one with videos, among other things.
A “Liquid” track entitled “Chrome”, is featured on the new Mute sampler “14 Irregular Files – a Mute Accumulation”, together with contributions from Moby, The Clarke & Ware Experience and many more (not Depeche Mode). /Mikael Kahrle

Crack crack
Carl Crack from Atari Teenage Riot seems to be in deep trouble. Due to a strong psychosis, he has, during the past weeks, been unable to appear at the shows on the band’s current tour. It all started on a flight to Belfast when Crack tried to open the fire exit door during take off and also attacked a stewardess. The plane was forced to land and he was arrested, but not charged over the incident. /Erik Almgren

Eldritch in no hurry…
After having finished a mini-tour in North America, The Sisters of Mercy are (once again…) close to start recording a new album. In an interview with Allstar, Andrew Eldritch says:
- We're in no particular rush about it, but we're putting songs down now.
Eldritch expressed his wish to work together with Ofra Haza again. He continued by telling the magazine that the album will only take him six months to finish. Although he's aiming for a spring 2000 release for their first single in ten years, he had to admit that the band has no label yet. The main problem whilst searching for a record contract, will be the money the label in question is supposed to invest in the band. Eldritch is apparently asking for three million US dollars... /Johan Astemark

Reznor wants to try new ideas with female singer
Trent Reznor is indeed in search of a female singer for a new project. This has nothing to do with, as a wide spread rumour stated, the upcoming Nine Inch Nails world tour and a possible backup singer. According to Reznor himself, he just has a lot of extra material and ideas that he is excited to try in a different situation. /Erik Almgren
