T.RAUMSCHMIERE
BLITZKRIEG POP
ALBUM NOVAMUTE, EMI RELEASE: SEPTEMBER 14, 2005 REVIEW: OCTOBER 4, 2005

German-born Marco Haas has a solid curriculum vitae and a history as a drummer in hardcore band Zorn, one of the founders of the record label Shitkatapult and being the man behind T.Raumschmiere. The latter is an experiment in electronica, that has developed into an electro punk/clash-hybrid with a "stay anti"-slogan.

Miss Kittin performed guest vocals on previous EP "Monstertruckdriver". On the latest release, Haas himself sings (or shouts) on two songs and is joined by Ellen Alien (Bpitchcontrol), Sandra Nasic (ex-Guano Apes), Judith Juillerat and Quasimodo Jones on four others.

The title "Blitzkrieg Pop" both say and doesn't say how the music sounds. It's pop-ish like American vanilla punk with electronic bits in between, and the energy has more the feeling of an outstretched trench warfare instead of a blitzkrieg. Also, the material is jagged and uneven, and perhaps if Haas had killed some of his darling songs, his (supposed) anger might really have shown and caught on.
