Mike Whyte back in London continued:

The return to the UK, and especially London, has been an exciting one:

- I am sooo happy to be back in London, and excited to be back in my homestead - my aim is to dig up the very best the capital has to offer, ready to serve up to all those lucky Release readers out there. It's good to be back!

During his time in Asia he also formulated his own artistic identity, creating the electro-experimental artist Rophone. The EP "Roworks" is out now.

- The music came from a unique opportunity of being in a different environment, and thus not having the music I grew up with readily to hand - this gave me the impetus to create the music I wanted to listen to myself, with minimal outside influence - free of the diversions of taste or fashion, he says.

In the past, Mike Whyte has done a variety of work for Release: Martin Gore and Alec Empire interviews, numerous News pieces and reviews. He has also helped the Swedish crew with the English language, being one of three Anglo-saxans at Release (Peter Marks is from USA and Alex Veronac from Canada).
