Swedish musician, producer, mixer and programmer Christoffer Berg, 31, had already made a name for himself on the electronic music scene because of his involvement with The Knife and Fever Ray. The rumour about his skills finally reached the Depeche Mode management and, all of a sudden, Daniel Miller was on the phone… Peter Marchione talked to Mr Berg in Gothenburg – his and Release’s hometown – and Fredrik “Schlatta” Svensson took some photos in Svenska Grammofonstudion.
On the compilation “The Cage – the First 20 Years”, British alternative and electronic artist Martin Bowes (Attrition) collects 40 tracks that he has worked with in his studio The Cage. Klinik, En Esch and Mona Mur, Die Form, The Arch, Ka-Spel and Black Tape for a Blue Girl are some of the names on this digital donation release, out now.

Henric de la Cour’s solo album was a chilling and excellent effort, and now he’s poised to return with “Mandrills” (Progress Productions) in September. It was recorded in Barnhus Zoo Studios in Stockholm together with Henric’s former Yvonne bandmate Rikard Lindh, and is described as a “dark, dystopian journey that holds strong melodies”. [more...]
