Swedish synthpop duo Daily Planet restarted a short while ago and Progress Productions signed them this week. Progress is home to vocalist Jarmo Ollila’s other band, Mr Jones Machine.
Energy Rekords, former employer of Torny Gottberg from Progress, released the critically acclaimed album “The Tide” from Daily Planet in 1996. The sound was reminscent of Erasure at their best but Daily Planet’s career never really took off and they did not release any more albums.
Now, the comeback album is planned for late summer/early autumn and a single is being produced as we speak.
