Long time readers might remember when I gave Syntax masterpiece “Meccano Mind” a rare ten out of ten score in Release, back in 2004. It still ranks as one of my favourite albums, and I was always sad that nothing more came out of that project afterwards. Until now! Suddenly there’s movement in the Syntax camp again, and the EP “Tripolar” was released in December. It’s not as dancey as their older material, but that shouldn’t keep you from checking it out as it’s still great stuff.
Mike Tournier and Jan Burton have decided to release the new album in installments on their own label Pandephonium, instead of a complete album. The second EP is due early this year, with the third a few months after that.
