Release Magazine is the biggest contributor to Saturday’s Swedish Synth Music History exhibition at the Electronic Winter festival in Gothenburg. Yours truly (Release’s editor-in-chief Mikael Kahrle) and organiser Henrik Wittgren have put together 120 A3 and A4 wall displays with magazine pages, photos, letters, press cuttings, unprinted magazine pages, ads, flyers and more. Most of the material is Release-related but we have also used press images, press releases and so forth. It has been an exhausting but fun job to dig through our archives. Some of the stuff have been digitalized for future use.
Other magazines and the newly published book “Den Svenska Synthen” are also part of the exhibition and there will be a “Wall of Synth” – a wall covered with close to 100 record covers.
American electropop band Iris will perform live, alongside The Mobile Homes, Lustans Lakejer, Emmon, Dead Eyes Open, Sista Mannen på Jorden and Robert Enforsen. Numerous DJ:s will spin records and there will be meet and greets with Lustans Lakejer and Iris. Christer Lundberg (Universal Poplab, radio profile) will do the opening speech. And there is more.
As many as 700 Facebook-ers are “attending” so far and there are tickets left.
