Kraftwerk are just finishing off the North American leg of their 3D world tour; they have played a dozen dates in USA and Canada. On October 5, they played at the Masonic Temple Theatre in Detroit.
After the show they made a surprise appearance at the After Hours celebration at the club MOCAD. Detroit techno veteran Art Payne played the opening set followed by legends Juan Atkins, Kevin Saunderson and Derrick May. It was during the Saunderson set that all four Kraftwerk members made it to the DJ spot and did an unusual in promptu collaboration performance to the cheers of the over 1 200 ecstatic attendees in the crowd. Ralf Hütter and company was even seen dancing behind the decks.
Kraftwerk is now returning to Europe where they will continue their 3D tour in late November and early December.
