Alison Moyet has been working on a new electronic album for a while, together with Guy Sigsworth – a talented dude who has worked with Björk, Madonna, Goldie, Seal and Kate Havnevik among many others. He was also one of the members of Frou Frou, together with Imogen Heap. The album is called “The Minutes” and comes out on May 6.
The first proper single is called “When I Was Your Girl” and comes out on April 1. You can however get a free download of the track “Changeling” which you can also watch below.
Alison will go on tour to support the album and says in a press release that the tour “will see me returning to the stage with computers and screens and programming a go-go.”
She goes on to say that “this tour, highlighting my new material, will take advantage of the altered line-up to approach again songs from Yazoo, my early solo synth years and Hometime, I reckon.” which sounds very intriguing.
Don’t expect any ballads either, this will be an uptempo affair focusing on having fun, singing along and dancing.
The tour starts in Ireland on September 30, and goes on until October 31 in Bournemouth. Tickets are already on sale.
