Mike Whyte watched The Orb play first 2 albums live in Brixton

As part of their 25th anniversary, the seminal ambient electronic band The Orb, performed live at Brixton Electric in London this past weekend. The current incarnation – Alex Paterson and Thomas Fehlmann – performed a set of highlights from their first 2 albums “Adventures from Beyond the Ultraworld” and “U.F.Orb”. Highlights included a reworking of the classic “Little Fluffy Clouds”, and a paired down “Blue Room”, as well as a much more intimate “Orb Soundsystem” played in an anti-chamber off the main stage an hour after the 2-hour set had finished.

The celebrations continue over at their new website www.theorb.com, where later in the year a new album to celebrate their 25 years together will be given away for free.
