Legendary EBM label Zoth Ommog ends existence
• Unbelievable but unfortunately true. Talla 2XLC's company Music Research, and its sub labels Zoth Ommog as well as many different dance labels, have been declared insolvent, and will have to give up the music business. According to the official statement, the Techno Club compilations released in co-operation with Sony are not affected. /Jens Krause

New releases from Rammstein


"Mutter Ltd".

• As previously reported, the track "Ich Will" has been chosen as next single from Rammstein. A live version and video recording of the track is included on the single, as well as the cover of The Ramones song "Pet Sematary" and remixes by Westbam and Paul van Dyk. A vinyl edition will also be made available.
The single is out now in Germany and will be released in Scandinavia on October 22, with a special limited edition of the album "Mutter" following on October 29. This version includes four live tracks. The promotional video for "Ich Will" is available on Rammstein's official web page. As usual, an expensive and odd piece of work. /Johan Carlsson

Synthphony Records gives money to charity
• All proceeds from the Synthphony compilation "New Wave Undercover" will be donated to the American Red Cross to help with the aftermath of the terrorist attack on New York. The compilation consists of cover versions of eighties hits. /Johan Carlsson

Pet Shop Boys DVD out in November



• The Pet Shop Boys live DVD called "Montage - the Nightlife tour" will be out on November 20. The boys have also finished the recording of their new album, scheduled for next year. 14 songs have been completed, and Neil Tennant and Chris Lowe are now mixing the album together with New York mixer and engineer Michael Brauer. /Johan Carlsson

Second album by Vorsprung Durch Technik
• At the end of October, we will finally see the release of Vorspung Durch Technik's second album "BritPop". The album covers a wide spectrum of styles, from slow moving electro via big beat to dance tracks. The band has also developed a good live show after doing a lot of gigs together with Dritte Raum and other friends. The band is headed by Olaf Wollschläger, which has made a name for himself as remixer for Paradise Lost, Yello, Bellini, S.P.O.C.K and as producer for Melotron, Klirrfaktor and In Strict Confidence. /Jens Krause

Expressive and emotional comeback
• Australia's Where Echoes End finally releases their second album "My Sweet Grotesque". It took about three years of struggle and a month in studio to finish. The album is dedicated to band member Paul Read, who tragically deceased from leukaemia in 1998. On "My Sweet Grotesque", vocalist Michel Angela and drummer Dean Vine have joined. /Anders Wiik

More synthpop celebs on forthcoming album
• Diskodiktator's web site now contains several free tracks for download. One of them is the new single "What's the Meaning of Being Different If I Can't Be Like You?". The band will play live together with Sista mannen på jorden in Hässleholm on November 10, and at the event they will play a lot of new songs from the as yet untitled album.
As we have told you before, Diskodiktator has drafted some talented people from other bands to help them with the album. Now, they add Anders Eliasson of Lambretta (ex Page) as producer and Tracy Howe of Rational Youth as co-producer. Previously hired collaborators include Eddie Bengtsson on drums and guest vocals, Robert Enforsen of Enforce (ex Elegant Machinery) on guest vocals and programming and finally the unknown Paul Allen of Virus 7 (ex Original Sin) on guest vocals. /Johan Carlsson

Lamb's third album out this week



• The British duo Lamb unleash their third album this week. It is called "What Sound". The style has changed a bit into modern electronic pop. /Johan Carlsson

Hot industrial newcomer
• The debut album of Dismantled is now finished and ready to be released. A label has yet to contract the project, but the free songs on www.mp3.com has created quite a stir among industrial fans. Gary Zon, the man behind the project has also made a song about the tragic attack on New York, which you can find on www.dismantled.org. /Johan Carlsson

Mini album by Radiohead offers new song
• On November 12, Radiohead will release a new mini album called "I Might Be Wrong Liverecordings". This selection of live tracks has been recorded in Oxford, Oslo, Berlin and Vaison La Romaine. Every track is from either "Kid A" or "Amnesiac", except "True Love Waits", which is a new song. /Johan Carlsson

Echo Image label mates with Apoptygma Berzerk



• After being on the US label A Different Drum, Norwegian Echo Image has decided to leave them and join Hard:Drive, Apoptygma Berzerk's label. Echo Image will release their third single from the CD "Compuphonic" on October 6. It is "Standing Alone" and will contain remixes from View and Neuroactive as well as two new tracks.
Meanwhile, the band is working on new material. Echo Image will play at the Norwegian Terror Aid, to show their respect to the victims of the US attacks. The first performance take place in Halden on September 29, with another in Oslo on October 27. /Johan Carlsson

Emergenz vs Melotron

• The electro-pop band Emergenz has had assistance in the studio from their good old friend Andy Krüger from Melotron on one new track. Emergenz has also played supporting act for Melotron in the past. /Jens Krause

Release Records releases records
• Seems like Release is a popular name. Release Records is a label that have just released VidnaObmana's new solo album called "Tremor". The album is a fuse between his old industrial style and new avant garde tribal music. The album is the first in a trilogy of interpretations of "Dante's Inferno", the other being "Spore" and "Legacy". Available now. /Johan Carlsson

A new band is born

• Fireline Angels is the name of a new Gothenburg band with members from Sadovaja and Elasmo. They are in the studio right now. /Mikael Kahrle

Foetus remixed by DJ Food and Franz Treichler
• The companion piece to Foetus' stunning album "Flow", released earlier this year, is out now in the US and scheduled for an October release in Europe. "Blow" contains remixes by a host of artists, among them DJ Food, Kid606, Nine Inch Nails associate Charlie Clouser, The Young Gods' Franz Treichler and Pan Sonic.
Foetus has also completed a tour of North America and is currently playing live throughout Europe. /Kristoffer Noheden

The Cure hits collection with new songs


• The Cure are now preparing a greatest hits album, which should include some of their best tracks remastered, as well as two new ones. Three new tracks have been finished, one of them being a duet with Saffron from Republica. Only two will be featured on the album, as the third track will only be released via a promo in America.
To complicate things further, UK and Japanese versions will have slightly different track listings. To please the fans that already have all the songs, they will make a special edition containing a free bonus CD with acoustic live versions of all the tracks on the "proper" album. In North America however, the extra CD will cost a few dollars.
Videos for the two new tracks have also been made, as this collection will be released on VHS and DVD as well. /Johan Carlsson

Atari Teenage Riot MC Carl Crack dead
• Atari Teenage Riot MC Carl Crack tragically died on September 6. Crack, who was only thirty, had been a member of Atari Teenage Riot since the start, and was a big part of the band's manic live presence. He also recorded the solo EP "Black Ark", which, influenced by Lee Perry and John Coltrane, showed a more melancholic side. He is said to have worked on new solo material recently. Finally green light for Tiamat recordings


• The Swedish metal band Tiamat has now entered the famous PUK Studios in Denmark to work on their next album. The album has no title yet, but we know it is planned for a release on January 28. www.churchoftiamat.com contains information about the recordings. /Johan Carlsson

Gahan starts recording in January
•
At a press conference in Tallinn, David Gahan said he hopes to start recording his solo album in January 2002. The album should then be out in the end of 2002. He has a dozen songs in demo stage. These are written by Gahan and his friend Knox Chandler, most of them during last year, and a couple of them earlier than that. The solo album will have much looser sound than Depeche Mode’s. Gahan said there are a couple of musicians he’d like to work with, but he hasn’t decided anything yet. /Jesper Lakman (Uselink)

• German In Strict Confidence has decided to make a very special single from their successful album "Love Kills". "The Truth Inside of Me"
