Orbital call it quits

The eagerly awaited “Blue Album” from British techno brothers Orbital will unfortunately be the duo's last. After the album release on June 21 Orbital will play two live dates before they put an end to the band: Brixton Academy on June 25 and at the Glastonbury festival on Sunday June 27.
- I think we feel that Orbital has run it’s course,” says Paul Hartnoll. We’re both pursuing different avenues with our music. And we’ve been sat, as brothers, in the same room for 15 years now – and studios are always confined spaces – I think it’s time for a change. /Johan Carlsson

New Ministry CD release draws closer

Made in El Paso.

Completing their newly recorded "Houses of the Molé", Ministry have exposed their new album cover artwork, a mish-mash of the backside of a US greenback with traditional anarchy symbolism. Their new single "No W" can be sampled here.
The producer of the album is solely Al Jourgensen this time around following Paul Barker's departure last year. A "Houses of the Molé" record release party is planned by the label for June 26 in Hollywood, USA and is to have Ministry band members present. A few days prior, on June 22, the album will be released as US domestic on Sanctuary Records.
On a side note, Ministry's classic "N.W.O." was recently heard as soundtrack to an European high fashion runway show. /Alex Veronac

Short but efficient Human League nostalgia

Play it simple.

Human League (and Release) visited new romantic club Romo Night in Gothenburg last Friday. This was the most important booking in the club's eight year history. The singback gig was a typical short nightclub set even without instruments on stage, just over half an hour long. Nine hits were delivered by the three vocalists. Although many wished for a full set and a real deal concert, most in the 700-headed crowd seemed happy enough.
- We apologize if we and Human League didn't meet everyone's expectations. It was a club night, not a concert. Sure, we hardcore fans would have loved to hear some odd songs, but for most people this hit parade was successful, Tobbe Eriksson, one of the two organizers says.
One Romo Night with a special eight year anniversary dinner and Lustans Lakejer gig remains before a summer break. Foreign and Swedish bands are being booked for the autumn as we speak. /Mikael Kahrle
