Ralph Lundsten and Neurobash meet in space Sep 27 2007 | By: Tobias Eliasson (Gothenburg, Sweden) Legendary Swedish electronic composer, artist and filmmaker Ralph Lundsten has joined forces with young electro band Neurobash to create a space adventure called “The Naked Moon and the Virgin Sun”. The composition describes a journey from Tellus to a new, unknown place in another solar system and is currently in its finishing phase. So far there is no information if, when or how the album will be released; we will return to this when it gets official. Lundsten has been active as a composer since 1959 and is one of the true pioneers in the electronic music history using analogue synthesizers since the mid-60:s. Neurobash was formed in 2004 and has done both regular danceable electronic music and music for different art projects. They are currently working on their upcoming album. Gothenburg by night: a look at the some of the clubs Sep 24 2007 (edited Sep 26 and 27) | By: Mikael Kahrle (Gothenburg, Sweden) Swedish nostalgia synthpoppers Mr Jones Machine are going to perform at new Gothenburg Club Target's premiere at newly refitted venue Henriksberg's Ballrrom on November 9. Another Gothenburg club, Bunker, added this date for an event weeks ago but is now considering a new date, according to Club Target. Club Target is organised by people from Det svarta staketet and Nuclear Nation, with some assistance from Torny Gottberg. Mr Jones Machine plan to celebrate their new limited edition DVD, recorded at their last Gothenburg gig in April at Synthklubben. This club has invited Mobile Homes for their Friday event (September 28). Other interesting active Gothenburg clubs include the free-of-charge weekly clubs Synthhaket (at Haket) and Club4heroes (at Wish), both at the same day (!), Thursdays. The Synthhaket organisers also start a full-blown club called Bodybeat at Haket on Saturday, October 20. Old-timer Saturn carry on every second Saturday at Haket. Interesting themes this autumn include Italodisco (September 29), Canada (October 13), Factory Records (October 27) and Pet Shop Boys (November 10). Kent goes electronic on new single Sep 18 2007 | By: Johan Carlsson (Stockholm, Sweden)
The new Kent single "Ingenting" ("Nothing") is out today, and it's a quite interesting affair. Brooding lyrics and guitars still abound, but the foundation is mainly electronic, which is a pretty big shift from the previous efforts. The single also contains three remixes as well as the new track called "Min värld" ("My World"). "Ingenting" is the first taste of the upcoming album "Tillbaka till samtiden" ("Back to the contemporary") which is out on October 17. In further News, Kent have signed a deal with Sony Ericsson. Catching up with Erasure Sep 18 2007 | By: Tobias Eliasson (Gothenburg, Sweden) Quite a lot is going on in the world of Erasure right now; here is a summary. The next single from the latest album “Light at the End of the World” is “Storm Chaser”, a nine track EP that will be released in Europe on September 24; the US will have to wait until October however. It will be available in two different CD versions, a 7” vinyl picture disc and of course digital download. The EP will also contain the song “Early Bird” where Andy Bell does a duet with Cyndi Lauper. Also coming up (on September 25), Erasure will play the Royal Albert Hall in London, a show that will be recorded for an upcoming CD and DVD to be released by the end of 2007. The band is currently finishing the UK part of their tour and will then continue to Denmark and Germany. Onetwo (consisting of Paul Humphreys from OMD and Claudia Brücken from Propaganda) is the support act for the tour. We will return with a review from the show in Copenhagen. And finally their best of album “Hits! The Very Best of Erasure” will be re-released on October 29 in a new 2 CD + DVD package.
