Familjen joins Kent on 30 new concerts Nov 29 2007 | By: Mikael Kahrle (Gothenburg, Sweden) Kent add no less than 30 new concerts to their tour; many of them in mid-sized cities throughout Scandinavia. Kent will be supported by electro project Familjen, joined by electronica artist Andreas Tilliander on stage. The new tour leg starts on January 23 and ends two months later. Nov 26 2007 | By: Mikael Kahrle (Gothenburg, Sweden) According to Billboard, the new Jesus and Mary Chain album might see the light of day in late spring or early summer, preceded by a Rhino four disc box set with demos, alternate takes and rare acoustic songs. Plans for a new album was announced by Jim and William Reid in a interview the day after their Coachella Festival show and now they are picking around twelve songs for the new album, from dozens of newly written ones. "All Things Must Pass" was performed at the "Late Show with David Letterman" this summer and will appear on the "Heroes" soundtrack in early 2008. Another piece, "Dead End Kids", has been played live during the latest shows. - Jim's completely sober now, and I don't drink during the shows. But there is a kind of wariness. We're both aware that we could snap at each other, but we're trying to hold it together. We love this band, and we love each other, William says. So far, so good. New Twice a Man CD set for release Nov 23 2007 | By: Tobias Eliasson (Gothenburg, Sweden) “Clouds” is the title of the new Twice a Man album and it was originally set for a September release; however it has been postponed and will now be released on January 25 via German label Yellow. Twice a Man is planning to do live shows in both Germany and Sweden in the spring. This is the first release from Twice a Man since Johnny Friberg joined founders Dan Söderqvist and Karl Gasleben as a permanent member. He hasn’t joined the band on stage yet though, but is responsible for a lot of the quite advanced rhythm programming, Söderqvist told us when Release met him in the studio the other day. "Columbus" single with extra song Nov 21 2007 | By: Mikael Kahrle (Gothenburg, Sweden) The second single pick from Kent's triple platinum (in Sweden it means 120 000 copies) album "Tillbaka till samtiden" is the celebrated "Columbus". The December 5 release features the original, remixes by Krister Linder and Max Graham and the extra song "Tick Tack". The current sold-out tour continues on Friday. Busy winter for Memento Materia Nov 21 2007 | By: Mikael Kahrle (Gothenburg, Sweden) In December, Swedish electro act Colony 5 returns to the spotlight with the single "Knives". Their label Memento Materia says the sound has a harder edge than we're used to, but that the melodies are still there. The new album "Buried Again" is scheduled for February. Colony 5 plays the electriXmas festival. The rest of Memento Materia's release schedule looks like this: January: "Autumn Never Leaves" single with synthpop band Bobby. February: "Thursday in This Universe" album with Bobby and "Arctic Noise" album with EBM project Run Level Zero. TBA: Memento Materia has a new signing, to be revealed later, and there are loose plans for a Michigan single.
