"Septic VIII" - an unusually strong compilation CD September 15, 2009 | By: Mikael Kahrle (Gothenburg, Sweden) The new version in the critically acclaimed electronic music compilation series "Septic" has just been released and our promo copy arrived yesterday. It's "album of the month" in several German magazines and we can understand why. As usual, it holds a mixture of strong newcomers and new tracks from familiar names. "Septic VIII" lets us have a sneak peak of upcoming albums from Mesh, Informatik, Velvet Acid Christ, Edge of Dawn and Necro Facility, who opens the album with the exactly three minute short "Do You Feel the Same". We heard the track for the first time one year ago and were immediately impressed by the hit quality. The compilation also offers a song from Ghost & Writer, a new band with members from Seabound and The Weathermen. Dependent released the "Septic I" in 1999 and "Septic VIII" marks a new beginning for the reborn German label. This MySpace page has a DJ mix including all tracks. Revolting Cocks was started by Al Jourgensen, Richard 23 and Luc van Acker in the mid 80:s and a vast number of musicians have joined - and left (possibly for rehab) - the ongoing RevCo party over the years. For this tour Jourgensen has picked Josh Bradford, Sin Quirin, Clayton Worbeck, Aron Rossi and Murv Douglas. As usual, guests will appear on stage. September 29 is the date for "Sex-O MIXXX-O", a remix compilation with contributions from Dave "Rave" Ogilvie (Skinny Puppy), Andy LaPlegua (Combichrist), Chris Vrenna and many more. Rotersand fight against conformity September 9, 2009 | By: Mikael Kahrle (Gothenburg, Sweden) German trio Rotersand has declared war on conformity and standardisation, the undermining of individualism and personality - the "error" in us. The new EP "War on Error" (out now) deals with these themes and offers a variety of tracks ranging from hard dancefloor fillers to a piano ballad. The CD is a digipak in 2 000 copies designed by Ingo Römling (In Strict Confidence, ASP, L'ame Immortelle). The new album "Random Is Resistance" will follow this fall. "Tricky Tricky" Röyksopp contest September 1, 2009 | By: Mikael Kahrle (Gothenburg, Sweden) Röyksopp invites everyone to participate in a remix contest (where the winner will be released, of course). - We feel that track "Tricky Tricky" has so much potential, it deserves a life outside the album. Not only is this a chance at beating us at our own game, you also get to mess around with Karin Deijer Andersson’s extraordinary vocals, they say. |
