Swedish electronic rock artist The Kick (David Sundqvist) gives away his new album "Anomalies" for free as a Christmas gift. The album will be available from December 24 at www.thekick.net. The Kick is signed to SubSpace Communications, released the album "Metal Heart" in 2009 and is preparing another album for 2011 as well. "Anomalies" contains previously unreleased songs.

Arvika Festival apologizes

Dec 22, 2010 | By: Mikael Kahrle (Gothenburg, Sweden)

In a surprisingly honest statement the bankrupt Arvika Festival says they're sorry and that they will rethink their strategy. There will indeed be a festival next year (if all goes according to plan) - on July 14-16 - and this time Arvika will aim at a smaller (5-10 000 visitors), cheaper and more alternative festival. Like in the old days.

Aphex Twin to headline Bloc 2011

Dec 20, 2010 | By: Mike Whyte (London, UK)

News has been released as to the headline act for Bloc 2011, and it is none other than the Braindance master, Aphex Twin. Aphex Twin last played Bloc 2009 (see previous review), which featured, as part of an incredible show, a mysterious loudspeaker dancer. Aphex Twin sets are known to be special, so many will wait with anticipation for this one.

Apart for the headliner, Bloc near Bristol, UK, continues to show its development into the country's premier electronic music festival with an already impressive early line-up - playing across the 11-13 March will include such acts as: LFO, Moderat, Speedy J, Dopplereffekt, Daedelus, Jimmy Edgar and B12 as the cream of what is still a largely unknown pie.

More information on lineup, tickets and all things Bloc related is available at the new Bloc website.
