French label to release new and old Sadman albums Jan 26, 2011 | By: Mikael Kahrle (Gothenburg, Sweden) The next album from Swedish pop duo Sadman will not be out on Memento Materia but instead the French company Keffen Productions. Keffen will also re-release Sadman's two previous albums. Work on the new album will commence soon. More soulful electronic pop from Pumajaw Jan 26, 2011 | By: Mikael Kahrle (Gothenburg, Sweden) Bands that perform soulful electronic pop with loops, dominant vocals and acoustic elements are increasingly rare. Bands like Portishead had their peak in the 90:s. Scotland's Pumajaw bend genres on their new album which will be out on CD/vinyl/digital in May, distributed via Cargo Records. The duo has just completed a two week tour of Italy. - It's the second time we have been there in a year. When we are back in the UK we will mix the new album. We will then be touring Scotland, Ireland and England. After that we will turn our attention to Europe to tour, Pinkie Maclure (pic) and John Wills say. John Wills founded art rock outfits Loop and The Hair & Skin Trading Company and co-produced Pinkie Maclure's solo album on Beggars Banquet in the late 90:s. As a songwriting team they have then released five albums and a compilation. Reznor wins Golden Globe Jan 17, 2011 | By: Mikael Kahrle (Gothenburg, Sweden) Trent Reznor has won a Golden Globe for his soundtrack to the critically acclaimed David Fincher movie "The Social Network". He composed the music together with Atticus Ross and the both will also team up for new project "The Girl with the Dragon Tatoo", based upon a Swedish bestseller book (and movie). Manifest awards nominations released Jan 17, 2011 | By: Mikael Kahrle (Gothenburg, Sweden) The Swedish alternative Manifest awards (Manifestgalan) have released the nominations for the best albums 2010. In the "synth" category we find Cryo, Code 64, Page (pic) and Social Ambitions - and in its jury Johan Carlsson and Tobias Eliasson from Release. The awards ceremony will take place in Stockholm on February 4. |
