BLIPP!
IMPULSER
ALBUM BLIPP RELEASE: FEBRUARY 28, 2005 REVIEW: APRIL 29, 2005

Ever the friendly creative consultant, I have been assigned the case of Swedish synthesizer pop veterans Blipp! A long career with regrettably few albums and almost as few of those albums sold, the band is now in dire need of innovative marketing in order to reach beyond releasing a CD-R every seven years. Well then, here goes:
Dear state television programming director,
We are an aspiring, somewhat wizened computer music trio with a great idea for a weekly educational kids afternoon show. In a studio painted to resemble a Lego space station, we sing sweet songs about space dogs and rockets from a child's wide eyed point of view, and teach them about the mysteries of the universe. We could be dressed in shiny jump suits and quarrel about stupid little things like which one of us three boys ate all the space cookies in the space cupboard. Distinctly synthesized, bouncy, cuddly sounds provide a soothing diversion for those hyperactive little rascals watching.
Of course we will also touch on the serious things in life, getting serious about big feelings and teaching the kids something about life. All in all, the show "Impulser" will be a nice, feel good and sincere show that should appeal to all the little people out there, as well as those adults with a longing for their lost childhoods.
