ALBUM A DIFFERENT DRUM RELEASE: WINTER 1999 REVIEW: MARCH 7, 2000
The American label A Different Drum continues to release
good electropop and B! Machine is a good example.
The music is pretty melancholic electropop with heavy
Depeche Mode influences and even the vocals remind me of Depeche Mode. The
influences don't bother me, but I can imagine that some others might be
disturbed.
A song worth mentioning is "Foreign", which is the
one most suitable for the dancefloor. Another song which must be mentioned is
"The Difference". It deals with the classical theme of love falling
apart. Only one thing bothers me: I can't remember which Depeche Mode song they
have ripped off? Aahrg, it's so familiar.
J Tuohimaa from Neuroactive has mastered the album as well
as contributed with additional production on five of the thirteen tracks.
This is simply a good album filled with calm electropop.
