CATASTROPHE BALLET
MODERN PRIMITIVES
ALBUM OBLIVION RELEASE:
APRIL 4, 2000 REVIEW: MAY 12, 2000
The world seem to be crammed with German crossover-acts that can't get
enough of dull Rammstein-riffs and semi-gothic boredom. Veterans Catastrophe
Ballet's efforts to get out of this ocean of clichés aren't very
convincing.
One very superfluous cover of Sex Pistol's "Anarchy in the U.K." and a
slight predilection for symphonic rock doesn't make things a bit more
interesting. This is simply lifeless music that some mislead people persist
in creating (and buying).
"Modern Primitives" will most rapidly sink into what their record label
seem to appreciate. And that is oblivion.
