DAF/DOS
DER DAF/DOS
LIVE STAAT
LIVE ALBUM VISION, SSC RELEASE: NOVEMBER 15, 1999 REVIEW: DECEMBER 23, 1999
Previously this year DAF/DOS released the, sometimes
enjoyable, album "Der DAF/DOS Staat". A hybrid of techno, house and
EBM, faithful to the minimalistic concept of the traditional DAF sound.
Now, obviously this wasn't enough for front man Gabi
Delgado, who also felt he needed to release the live album, "Der DAF/DOS
Live Staat". Not a very smart move. Delgado's vocal abilities isn't that
impressing and on a live recording this becomes painfully evident. And the
chosen tracks seem to be some form of left-over, neither including the most
interesting material from the studio album nor any classic early stuff (due to
rights problems).
Instead you get seven lame live recordings and three
untouched tracks from "Der DAF/DOS Staat". "Der DAF/DOS Live
Staat" is something of an insult to the fans and perhaps this year's most
expendable album.
