DIE FORM NOIR MAGNETIQUE ALBUM OUT OF LINE RELEASE: JUNE 12, 2009 REVIEW: JULY 17, 2009

Oh how Die Form's fans love to tout their legacy, they go on and on about when this French electronic band formed and how influential they are. Die Form never have done a thing for me throughout the 20 plus years I have been aware of them. This new album continues that tradition.

Take equal parts Chris and Cosey then mix with ABBA, there's Die Form's new record. Don't believe me? Go listen to "Voulez Vous" and then "Heartbeat" or "Trance". Die Form pop it up as never before on "Noir Magnetique". Perhaps it is simply easier to be a part of all this sugary excess going on right now instead of standing out. More glossy photographs, more slick production, more operettic vocals.... and as usual by the end of this thing my eyes are heavy.

Perhaps narcolepsy is the fetish they seek to exhume after all these years, this record is well suited to it.
