FAITH
ASSEMBLY
GHOSTS I HAVE BEEN
ALBUM A DIFFERENT DRUM RELEASE: SEPTEMBER,
2000 REVIEW: SEPTEMBER 29, 2000

I don't know what it is, but I don't like Faith Assembly. The band seems to be
reasonably popular in their home country USA, but I think they will have trouble conquering Europe.
"Ghosts I Have Been" sounds too much like
their previous releases "Shades of Blue" and "My Mortal Beloved"
to be even a tad interesting. This is very annoying, when the production and vocals are
of high quality. The songs just ease through one ear and out of the other, without
providing commitment, without having an edge.
Some of new romantic fans may dig Faith
Assembly, but when I listen to synthpop I need good melodies and catchy choruses.
"Ghosts I Have Been" has neither.
