These guys from Finland came from nowhere and reached stardom after no time at all. Especially the Germans are fond of them. What made Him famous was the Chris Isaak-cover "Wicked Game". The new release from Him comes in a nicely coloured booklet. Unfortunately, the vocalist Valo is also on the booklet. He's posing with a cigarette in his mouth. The warning lights flashes like a stroboscope when I see this. I get the idea; these very naughty boys from Finland are trying to steal the small amount of cash, which kids have got from their moms and dads! Him, that's not a very nice thing to do! Regarding the music I establish that it has no quality whatsoever. Worst are the "love metal" songs, which remind me of bands like Five, Backstreet Boys, Boyzone and similar crap. To compare this with Boyzone is not very nice towards the boy band though. Otherwise, it's just heavy metal in a "cool" package and it all sucks utterly! JOHAN ASTEMARK |
