KITE IV EP PROGRESS PRODUCTIONS RELEASE: SEPTEMBER 21, 2011 REVIEW: SEPTEMBER 28, 2011

The minimalist, scaled down electropop from Kite brings me great joy. The warm synth melodies from Christian Berg and the unique voice of Niklas Stenemo creates a sonic mixture that sounds nothing like anything else.

The boys are now up to EP number four, cunningly titled “IV”, and it continues the entered path, while also moving forward. It’s one of their strongest EP:s, with the bar set ridiculously high by their first one. From the experimental and moody opening track “I Just Wanna Feel” to the bouncy, eighties powerpop flavoured “Victorious” we are treated to some of the finest pop made right now.

It seems that Kite are getting warmed up now, and are beginning to get comfortable enough to push the boundaries. The music is a bit more playful and filled with exploration, which I love.
