LOVELESS HELLO WORLD ALBUM KINETIC RESPONSE RELEASE: MARCH 30, 2002 REVIEW: APRIL 4, 2002

"She's my world, and I'll never leave her". Now, how many can get away with lyrics like these? I don't know for sure. I do know that Loveless has no problems making me remember lost loves and missed opportunities in their fantastic first track, "My World", of their first album "Hello World".
Loveless is one of quite a few Swedish synthpop bands signing with foreign labels nowadays. Canadian Kinetic Response Records, with among others Lode in their roster, is their new home. The trio has been struggling like so many other electronic pop bands with demos and music made available through the Internet.
Apart from the "My World", there is not much on "Hello World" that you haven't heard before, though. It's not by any means bad, just predictable and anonymous. But I'm sure lots and lots of synthpop freaks will take this to their hearts anyway, because of the classic song arrangements. Me, I've heard a bit too many bands sounding like this, but Loveless is still a good enough band to build a fan base among fans of synthpop in the vein of early Depeche Mode and other modern bands.
