MELOTRON
E.P.SODE 3
EP BLOODLINE, SSC RELEASE: NOVEMBER,
2000 REVIEW: NOVEMBER 30, 2000

It's
still hurting from the spontaneous somersaults I did while listening
to the buzzing synth sounds of "E.P.Sode 3". I
just couldn't help it. Melotron have chosen to walk the path they started
out on with their underrated debut "Mörderwerk".
"Du bist es nicht wert", from their current album "Fortschritt",
has been edited to a shorter version here, but still sounds exceptional,
as well as the two following tracks. "Alles von dir", which very
well might be Melotron's best song to date, and "Wenn es nichts mehr
gibt", a slow piece showing the emotional side of the band quite
nicely. "Ich bin, wie ich bin" comes next, equipped with hard
beats and more aggression, inviting us all to dance on the EBM dancefloor.
Add to this a cool, energetic instrumental, "Ein stück Sicherheit",
and a dance remix of "Du bist es nicht wert" and you have the
best EP of 2000.
Melotron are more playful on "E.P.Sode 3" than
on "Fortschritt", and I love it. The exciting rollercoaster
feeling is back and Melotron is still one of the best electropop bands
hailing from Germany. That's really saying something.
