MELOTRON

Melotron is a very competent band. They’re just not dealing enough with the And
One tag, they’ve been afflicted with. In fact, I personally think they're more
And One-ish now than on the debut "Mörderwerk". The music is a bit more static
and there are less warmth and melody too. Firm, serious synthpop.
Viewed as a skill of craftsmanship, "Fortschritt" is close to perfection, but
I lack spontaneity, playfulness and things that surprise you, things that aren’t
standard made.
I’m afraid Melotron may be too smart for their own good. And though songs like
"Du bist es nicht wert", "Warten auf dich" and "Es brennt", as well as the exclusive
use of German vocals, appeal to me, I’m left with just a vague grin on my face.
I expected a big, heart warming smile.
