NED
WIDESCREEN
ALBUM SONY RELEASE: APRIL 21, 1999 REVIEW: MAY 22, 1999
The Swedish duo Ned has already reached some success in Sweden with their
singles "Wanna Live" and "Wonder Why". These two tracks are also the most
commercial on their debut album "Widescreen". The music is a blend of drum'n'bass, pop and techno elements. Lena Olsson-Björkén handles her vocalist
job very well, while musician and producer Anders Hejner has problems
varying the musical part. "Widescreen" is to be enjoyed in small doses in
order to reach its best potential. Listening to the whole album may be a bit
too much, I'm afraid. Highlights? The singles and "The Elephant is So Sad".
