N.EVER.ENDLESS
MOMENTS
ALBUM SYNTHPHONY RELEASE: MAY, 2000 REVIEW: AUGUST 29, 2000
|
I'd like to know where it is. The German synthpop band factory. And I'd very
much like to talk to the man in charge of it. My guess is he needs to be
replaced, based on his constant granting of acts like N.ever.Endless.
Someone with fresh ideas needs to be consulted, someone not only promoting
Depeche Mode as role models.
"Moments" is the labour of a German trio suffering from a very common
synthpop sickness. They sound like a hundred other bands in the synthpop
field. You seldom hear real catastrophes nowadays, but masterpieces are just
as rare. The voice of N.ever.Endless tries to impersonate Dave Gahan. No
news there. Most songs on "Moments" are quite good though, with focus on
melancholic moods and appealing synth sounds, but they never make you go
"wow!".
N.ever.Endless need to ask themselves if they really want their music to sound like
countless other synthpop bands, preferably German ones.
