POST
ÅDROR
EP POST RELEASE: MARCH 14, 2000 REVIEW:
APRIL 14, 2000
Gothenburg based pop-rockers Post could easily be confused with many Swedish spare
-time bands. An unpretentious approach with a traditional setting and a total
absence of audible surprises, simply takes them all straight down the path of
anonymity. It's a comfortable but very beaten track that leads nowhere in the
long run.
But there are some elements that want to break free from these routines. Songwriter
and vocalist Urban Hane (with a voice slightly reminiscent to that of the undisputed
champion of Swedish punk-rock, Joakim Thåström) is much too competent for its
context and the track "Rummet" have a melodic touch worth developing. But otherwise
"Ådror" is nothing but dull. And why call themselves Post? The music isn't post
anything… well, perhaps post anonymous.
