PROJECT
GRUDGE
BETWEEN YOU AND REALITY
ALBUM MEDEA, SSC, PLAYGROUND RELEASE: APRIL,
2001 (SCANDINAVIA) REVIEW: APRIL 19, 2001

I
keep trying to bring in chaos in my sphere of constant music listening.
I'm not very successful. Now, ordered chaos I can handle, even occasional
erratic outburst,
but Project Grudge's "Between You and Reality" is just terrible
cliché stapling. Where's the breathing room?
There are only so
many minutes of headbanging you can handle before you start to feel dizzy.
It's all the same to me, I'm sorry, but I can not see the point in thoughtless
mayhem, constructed by murderous guitars, marginal electronic sounds and
a distant, horribly distorted voice. Even if your intention is to create
so called aggressive music, won't the impression come across as more effective
if you mix it up a bit? Calm intermissions would be appreciated. They
are not to be found on "Between You and Reality".
Search and you shall find? In this case, not very likely.
