RAVEONETTES
WHIP IT ON
MINI ALBUM CRUNCHY FROG, SONY RELEASE: FEBRUARY 19, 2003 REVIEW: MARCH 11, 2003

Once in a while, music that’s so great it takes your breath away comes along. Music that’s so cool and natural it defies words. Music you just can’t stop listening to. Music that makes you wanna put on that leather jacket and those shades and drive on and on through the night, or just get really drunk and party ’til the sun comes up.
The 21-something minutes of "Whip It on" by Danish duo The Raveonettes is such music.
Imagine eight songs, all under three minutes, made for us who miss The Jesus & Mary Chain like hell but doesn’t think Freeheat, although great, makes up for the loss. Then throw in some droning feeling of Suicide and a fair amount of the Cramps and you get the idea of the sound.
You may already have heard the awesome song "Attack of the Ghost Riders", but each and every one of the seven remaining songs on "Whip It on" makes the cut. If you haven’t bought this little masterpiece signed Sune Rose Wagner and Sharin Foo yet, I hope you will, soon, for you own sake.
If you already have got it and can’t stop listening to it - hold on, in May the first full-length album is due out. If it will be great? Well - with the Ghost Riders on the go, I think you know…
