REGENERATOR
WAR
ALBUM ALFA MATRIX RELEASE: DECEMBER 14, 2001 REVIEW: DECEMBER 6, 2001

American duo Regenerator hasn't made a great name for itself overseas. And hearing this, the fifth album, I kind of understand why.
Take two singers, male and female, with distinctive different voices, take some European body music, mainly Front 242 and mix it with ambient techno from the same continent and you've got an idea of how this sounds. Think Enya doing half of the vocals on "Rhythm of Time".
This isn't a bad album, I find myself programming "War", "God Is on My Side" and "Shores of Forever", dreaming myself away to some B-rated eighties' sci-fi flick, but this isn't great either. We've heard it before, like 15 years ago, and all of it didn't sound good the first time through either. Why should I want to listen to the remix?
