REVIVAL
THE LONGEST DREAM
ALBUM REVIVAL PRODUCTIONS RELEASE:
MAY, 2000 (CANADA) REVIEW: MAY 24, 2000
As great and mind-blowing fast and intense music can be, what would you do
without calm intermissions? "The Longest Dream", performed by Revival,
aka Romanian Sorin Pavelesco, is as pleasant as they come. Impressive
piano play, mesmerizing moods and a spotless production.
Pavelesco has made
something of a concept album, with the main theme being dreams. He touches
ambient, classical music as well as more electronic excursions. Sometimes
close to the sound of Dead Can Dance, though always instrumental. Some of
the compositions on "The Longest Dream" bear traces of anonymity, but they
are few.
A well executed soundtrack to our nightly adventures.
