SAFARI ON PLUTO
YOU GO TO MY HEAD
ALBUM V2 RELEASE: DECEMBER 1, 2004 REVIEW: DECEMBER 6, 2004

I’ve never met vocalist Cesar Vidal, but judging from his musical output he is the kind of carefree, good natured person you can only dream of being yourself. His happy-go-lucky approach is usually transmitted via Caesars Palace: his punk rock outfit shaking Swedish butts along with Teddybears Sthlm and the rest of the Stockholm happy party rock circuit. Life is for kicks and fuck the rest.
This attitude works just as well with the electronic backing of his new band Safari on Pluto as it did over rough guitar riffs. Somebody sneaked into the garage at night and replaced the guitars with Casio gadgetry but the guys just went on playing in the morning, hardly noticing the difference. ”You Go to My Head” is synthpop with a slight punk twist, applying classic synthesizer sounds for infectious up tempo party tunes.
Safari on Pluto also have the good sense of keeping it short. Their catchy but shallow material would quickly become tedious, but the album ends long before that can happen. Clocking in at around 34 minutes,”You Go to My Head” merely gets you in a good mood.
