ALBUM ARMAGEDDON
SHADOW/TRINITY RELEASE: NOVEMBER,
1999 REVIEW: NOVEMBER 15, 1999
This is supposed to be some kind of
black metal operetta - sounds pretty interesting, doesn't it? No,
unfortunately, the music is many light years away from interesting.
The
soundscape consists of extremely ridiculous metal with horrible
"vocals". Sometimes they sound like black metal ones, but worse, and
pretty often they are just like a huge pimple on your nose. With other words,
not appealing at all! There's a girl singing here and there - she's
contributing with the opera part together with some strings and similar
pretentious arrangements. I got to give her some credit because she doesn't
sound completely insane. Anyhow, it doesn't matter how she sings, because the
heavy metal guitars in combination with the male "vocals" make this
album among the worst I've heard. This is so bloody bad that I could not stand
listening to the entire album. I hope you trust my judgement. One thing is for
sure - I can't risk going mental because I have to write a review!
