SUBSTANCE D
ADDICTIONS
ALBUM NOISE RELEASE: OCTOBER 18, 1999 REVIEW: OCTOBER 14, 1999
It seems that there is an endless amount of angry American metal bands.
Substance D is yet another one, and like so many others they try on a so
called industrial angle. I say so called, since they don't display many
similarities with either the seventies wave of British and German industrial
bands, or the later, more rock oriented one.
Substance D are much closer to the crappy metal of Korn than to blazing
Ministry productions. And just like with Korn, I simply can't stand this.
The anger feels forced and the music is totally free from nuances. That it
keeps going for over 70 minutes doesn't make things better. Avoid.
