THE FREAK SHOW THE LESS YOU FREAK... ALBUM BNE RELEASE: APRIL 23, 2007 REVIEW: MAY 21, 2007

I once tried to explain the lure of psychedelic and progressive trance to one of my three aunts. She had that bewildered "is this actually music?"-type look on her face as I sat there head banging religiously to the beats of Astral Projection. Needless to say, my efforts of trying to win her over fell on deaf ears, as her musical tastes gravitate more towards folk music and singer/songwriter-esque calm.

Far from calm, Israeli duo The Freak Show deliver razor sharp progressive trance, fuming with raw energy. Not relying altogether on repetitive club beats, the band can proudly present massively pumped electro melodies, bordering on EBM on some occasions. Ten relentlessly club friendly tracks of trance bliss will hopefully give these talented lads some attention in a crowded genre.

"The Less You Freak" offers super tight production, gorgeous bass drums (yes, they are truly fantastic!) and a melodic electronic mayhem even the most experienced warlord would be proud of.
