TYSKARNA FRÅN LUND ACHTUNG X-MAS! SINGLE SSC, PLAYGROUND RELEASE: NOVEMBER 25, 2002 REVIEW: NOVEMBER 29, 2002

Fictive quartet Tyskarna från Lund made a greatly appreciated appearance at this year's SAMA festival, with a large dose of humour and a well rehearsed stage show. The song "Global Fussball OK" was the track everyone talked about afterwards and it was later successfully released as a one track single.
"Achtung X-Mas!" is their second proper single and it has preserved the almost parodically comic elements that is the trademark of Tyskarna från Lund. Still, with this single, and its mentioned predecessor, the music and production have taken huge leaps in quality since their early demo stage. "Achtung X-Mas!" borrows, or should I perhaps say lovingly steals, from Kraftwerk's "Metropolis", with talk-like vocals in the verse and a catchy chorus. A nice funny tune, basically. No need for fancy sound descriptions and pretentious journalist metaphors this time.
Get this for Christmas and make it a merry one!
