Andrew Eldritch of The Sisters of Mercy on why there are no new releases

In a fresh TeamRock interview, The Sisters of Mercy’s Andrew Eldritch elaborates on why the legendary dark (some say goth) rock band hasn’t released a new song since 1993′s “Under the Gun”, although they are still playing live year after year.

- Well, the fans have been hearing our new material for over 20 years at our concerts. And of course we’re incredibly grateful that they keep coming. The main problem with a new album is that I don’t want to blackmail my band into doing it for free.

He says nobody wants to pay for music anymore but he is considering crowd funding. He hasn’t spoken to his label in years. Read the interview for more on this and other topics.
