Andrew Weatherall has died aged 56

Andrew Weatherall passed away this morning at the age of 56. “The cause of death was a pulmonary embolism. He was being treated in hospital but unfortunately the blood clot reached his heart. His death was swift and peaceful”, the management writes.

Weatherall was a noted producer, remixer and DJ within various electronica and techno genres, but also trip-hop, post-punk and alternative pop. He produced music of his own in projects like Sabres of Paradise and Two Lone Swordsmen on Warp and other labels. Among the Release-related artists he produced and or remixed we find Björk, New Order, My Bloody Valentine, Saint Etienne, The Orb, FSOL and The Twilight Sad.
