Autechre release mammoth new album collection

Autechre return with new album “Elseq 1-5″, their 12th studio album. This new release will be different to previous albums though.

There are no plans to bring out a physical release. The first track “feed 1″ was previewed in the UK on 13 May 2016 on the BBC Radio 6 radio station, which specialises in the alternative and experimental, with another track “c16 deep thread” being played on an Alaskan student radio station. The 1-5 of the title reflects the fact that this is a collection of music across 5-volumes, and a massive 21 tracks, with some of the tracks being more than 20 minutes in length.

The album was released on the 20th May via Autechre’s website (autechre.bleepstores.com), with each of the volumes having its own illustration provided by long-term collaborators, the Designers Republic.
