Genesis P-Orridge died of leukemia two days ago. The controversial Brit was best known for the cult bands Throbbing Gristle and Psychic TV and played a part in creating the industrial genre.
Genesis performed in many other known and unknown avant-garde projects and was also a writer, poet and occultist, always eager to test the limits. S/he was also a “body evolutionist” and identified as third gender. Genesis P-Orridge has been mentioned in Release numerous times over the years, mainly as an inspirational source for other alternative musicians.
